Trump must answer these Questions before Theran call him, Iranian Envoy to UN

“The first question that he has to answer is that why he left the negotiating table. Because we were talking to all participants of the Nuclear Deal including the United States within the framework of the joint commission of the deal.”

TEHRAN, May 10 – Iran’s ambassador to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi said that US President Donald Trump will need to answer some questions it Iran leader must call him.

President Trump had hinted that he want the Iran to call him, sit down and talk with him about giving up Tehran's nuclear program and said he could not rule out a military confrontation given the heightened tensions between the two countries.

At an impromptu news conference at the White House, Trump declined to say what prompted him to deploy the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group to the region over what was described as unspecified threats.

"What they should be doing is calling me up, sitting down. We can make a deal, a fair deal, we just don't want them to have nuclear weapons - not too much to ask. And we would help put them back to great shape."

Trump added: "They should call. If they do, we're open to talk to them."

"What I'd like to see with Iran - I'd like Iran to call me," Trump said, speaking at the White House. "Financially, they have great potential."

But Iran’s ambassador said the Us President “is not aware that Iran is not after nuclear weapons.” In an interview with MSNBC, the Iranian envoy touched upon Leader of Islamic Revolution’s verdict on banning nuclear weapons in Islam, highlighting that Iran is not interested in such weapons.

Asked about whether Iranian leaders are willing to meet with Trump or not, Takht-Ravanchi answered, “The first question that he has to answer is that why he left the negotiating table. Because we were talking to all participants of the Nuclear Deal including the United States within the framework of the joint commission of the deal.”

“What is the guarantee that he [Trump] will not renege again on the future talks between Iran and the United States?” he framed, noting that Trump has already pulled US unilaterally out of the JCPOA multilateral accord.

Earlier, the ambassador denies threat against U.S. forces, calling it 'fake intelligence. He said the Trump administration's allegations of warmongering were false, spread by "the same people" who pushed the U.S. into Iraq

According to Ravanchi: "These allegations which are being produced by the same people who, in the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, did the same."
He said this in reference to national security adviser John Bolton, who worked in George W. Bush's administration during the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
