RAMADAN: Note the lessons and rites of sacrifice, tolerance, abstinence from sins and engaging in good deeds, Aregbesola Urges Muslim Faithfuls

The former Governor of Osun state, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has urged the Muslim faithfuls in the country to note the lessons of Ramadan as rites of sacrifice, tolerance, abstinence from sins and engaging in good deeds.

Muslim faithfuls across the globe today commenced the Ramadan fasting as the Moon was confirmed to have been sighted yesterday in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Nigeria.

In Nigeria,  both Islamic Council and Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III yesterday 5th of May, 2019 confirmed the sighting of the new Moon.

Aregbesola on his verified Twitter handle (@raufaregbesola) said: "As we begin Ramadan, I urge us all to note the lessons and rites of sacrifice, tolerance, abstinence from sins and engaging in good deeds."

According to him, Ramadan also presents a unique opportunity to us to pray for continued peace and progress of our country, our leaders and the development of our society.
