Boko Haram claims it killed 11 soldiers in Borno state, weapons captured by the militants

Islamic State (IS) linked Boko Haram in North Eastern state of Borno killed 11 Nigerian soldiers in an attack on town of Gajiganna, the group claimed through its news agency AMAQ on Saturday.


The Islamists attacked a military barracks in the state and a part of the equipment captured by the jihadists

The Jihadist organisation said the attack on the soldiers took place in the town in northeastern Borno state on Friday. It published pictures of burned barracks and dead bodies it claimed belonged to the soldiers. Reuters report says.

The alleged photos of the consequences of the attack were shared by netizens.

The security situation in Nigeria has deteriorated severely due to numerous internal conflicts and the surging activity of Boko Haram* in the country.
