As is known, David Beckham himself has just set up a club called Inter Miami FC. The club was founded and then announced in September 2018. This new club is called to play in Major League Soccer (MLS).
Then the use of the name Inter made the Inter Milan club management apparently unhappy. Because the club nicknamed Nerrazurri itself has filed a patent on behalf of 'Inter'. But it turned out that the debate on the use of the name 'Inter' had been used extensively before Inter Miami.
Even MLS also participated in the defense of the Inter Miami club. They say that Inter Milan cannot singly use the name Inter. This is because Inter is an abbreviation of 'Internacional' or 'Internazionale' which even now has been used by many clubs.
They also revealed a number of names using the name Inter. Among them are SC Internacional (Brazil), Nashville FC Inter, Inter Atlanta FC, Turku (Finland), Inter Zapresic (Croatia), Inter Leipzig (Germany), and Inter de Grand-Goave (Haiti).
"Basically the term Inter is a broad thing in football, consumers already associate the term Inter in a single football team. Inter is not just something used in football. There is no one team that uses the explicit rights to use the word Inter. So they don't have the right to use Inter's words, "MLS said in an official statement.
Inter Milan and Inter Miami themselves are currently undergoing a trial at the green table. Then the two clubs' dispute decisions will be announced on May 4.
