School feeding: Primary school pupils rushed to hospital after taking meal in Katsina

Reports gotten by Katsina Post has it that no fewer than five Primary school pupils were rushed to a primary health care center in Makurda, Rimi Local government in the early hours of Monday after taking their meal being served to them in school.
According to our sources, the pupils complained of stomachache immediately after taking the meal which prompted the school to stopped the sharing of the food and quickly retrieved the remnants from the other pupils.

The pupils who complained of the stomachache were then quickly rushed to the nearby health facility and they were all treated.

Public Relations Officer of Katsina State Ministry of Education, Salisu Kerau confirmed the incidence to Katsina Post but added that the situation was brought under control and the children have since resumed school.

According to Kerau, the food vendors who supplied food to the school were also notified about the problem and they were enjoined to continue to observe best hygienic practice.
